Description
This yoga course is focused on proper alignment and designed for general practitioners including those with limited yoga experience to advanced practitioners and yoga teachers. We will cover proper alignment techniques for popular yoga poses and strategies for avoiding injuries in your practice.
We will study and practice poses often used in my studio and commonly seen in Hatha yoga classes. We’ll look at poses where the front leg is neutrally rotated in the pelvis and poses where the front leg is in external rotation. We’ll also study Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar A and B) and variations. In addition, we will discuss and practice proper alignment postures in Chaturanga, Upward dog and Downward dog. Inversions are discussed and practiced as well.
You will be guided with Vinyasa Yoga which was developed from Hatha Yoga. While classical Hatha Yoga is practiced by holding postures, Vinyasa is a yoga style characterized by seamlessly stringing postures together while using synchronized breathing techniques. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are alike
